Chanukah Blues 2017/5778

Writing a Blues song is something anyone can do, whether you play an instrument or not! At this year’s Chanukah party, Tal led a collaborative song writing workshop where members came up with lyrics and put them to music.

Here’s the song they recorded at the end of the session!

Chanukah Blues/Dorshei Crooners

Oh I looked out my window, it was the darkest time of year,
Oh I looked out my window, and I almost shed a tear,
But I smiled when I remembered,
that the light of Chanukah shines here!

Coming to the party, but my car just wouldn’t start,
Coming to the party, but my car just wouldn’t start,
My latkes are getting cold, don’t you know it breaks my heart!

When I merged onto the highway, the traffic really stank,
When I merged onto the highway, the traffic really stank,
When I finally got to Dorshei, there were no spots left at the bank!

When I finally got to the party, I left the latkes in the car,
When I finally got to the party, I left the latkes in the car,
Though I showed up empty handed,
at Dorshei they love you for who you are!
