Telling a New Story: A Dual Narrative Tour of Israel and the West Bank with Congregation Dorshei Tzedek

Israel trip 2016 photo

July 7 – July 16, 2016

We are thrilled to announce the second CDT trip to Israel, an opportunity for both first-timers and those who have been before. This time we are using MEJDI tours, known for “dual narrative tours” to conflict regions like the Middle East. For much of our trip, we will be accompanied by both a Jewish Israel and a Palestinian tour guide, to provide us with multiple perspectives on the history and current situation of this beautiful but complex land. The trip will be geared towards adults and older children (11 years and older).

Cost: $1995 - $2100 per person, depending on group size (not including airfare)

Members: register your interest here.
Non-members: contact Rabbi Toba Spitzer at rabbi [at]

See below for a trip flyer and detailed itinerary.

Is the trip appropriate for children?
We encourage families to come, for kids aged 11 and older. If we have a critical mass of kids, we will arrange for programming specific to their needs in addition to the other programming.

What does the tour price include?
Included are all accommodations plus a majority of meals, tips for staff, and entry fees. You will need to bring some extra money for meals that are not covered, plus anything you might like to purchase.

Will we travel together to Israel?
Participants will be responsible for paying for their own flights, but the congregation will help organize a group for those who would like to travel together.

What if I want a single room?
There is an additional charge of $372 to have a single room throughout the trip.

What if I want to stay in Israel for additional time or go on to Jordan?
MEJDI tours will help participants arrange for additional days in Israel at the end of the trip, and/or help with an add-on to Jordan.
